Mosaic Instruction
How to find mosaic classes and mosaic instructors in your area.
First visit our Mosaic Classes page to check for classes near you.
If our class listing does not include a mosaic instructor in your area, there is still a way to find one. As you've probably already learned, the Internet
probably isn't the best tool for finding a local instructor because chances are whoever you find online is at least several hundred miles away.
A quick way to find mosaic classes near you is to call the type of organizations in your area that offer Continuing Education and other community programs.
You should call any local:
- art schools
- community colleges
- universities
- YMCA
- city and county recreation departments
- community centers
- museums
- art centers
- local mosaic artists
You should also remember that a class is not the only way to gain access to
mosaic instruction. Most of what you learn in a class will be learning by
doing. The instructor's main purpose is to introduce basics and keep you
from making obvious mistakes. With that in mind, most people can find out
enough to get started by flipping through a book on mosaic techniques or reading
instructions posted at this and other mosaic websites. All you need to do
is start simple, follow basic safety rules, and read the grout instructions.
