Students in this course learn the Direct Method on provisional putty (Roman mosaic) in which they insert the 'Tesserae' in the clay. They learn also the Byzantinemosaic, the Direct Method in which they set the glass'Tesserae' directly in the lime cement. Another technique taught is this Indirect Method (upside down on paper), in which the pupils glue the 'Tesserae' face down on paper. During the Master they create a mosaic tile (approximately 30x30 cm) in Roman mosaic with polychrome marble, with the Direct Method on provisional putty. They also create a Byzantine glass mosaic of the same measurements with the Direct Method.
