Lapis Lazuli gemstones, tumbled and polished. Lapis is a relatively rare, semi-precious stone valued for its intense blue color. Lapis Lazuli has been mined in Afghanistan for over 6,000 years. Historically, it has adorned the walls and columns of palaces and churches. This is a great stone for the price, and the color is a rich aqua blue. Gemstones and mosaics: Tumbled gemstones make colorful and interesting accents for "crazy-quilt" designs in mosaic backsplashes, picture frames and tables. The stone adds a little texture to an otherwise perfectly flat surface. Sold by weight, not by piece count. Keep in mind you are buying a natural material, and stones may vary from the picture shown. No two stones are exactly alike!
