COLONIAL 75 Unglazed Porcelain Mosaic Tile

C26 unglazed porcelain mosaic tile
Price: $2.67
Lyric mosaic tiles are fine porcelain with solid color throughout. The tiles are extremely strong, and there is no surface glaze like on ordinary ceramic tile. Suitable for floors, walls, pools, fountains, etc.
No large bevel on the edge like most ceramic tile. 100% of the tile is flat and usable.
Cheaper than many other types of tile. Color pallet includes "warm" and "cool" colors in light and dark shades.
Price is for a half pound of approximately 65+ tiles, not per tile.

  • Tile construction: fine porcelain with solid color throughout
  • Dimensions: 3/4" x 3/4" (18.5 mm)
  • Thickness: over 1/8 inch (4.3 mm) nominal
  • Frost-proof, impervious to liquid
  • Suitable for indoor or outdoor use

These tiles can be cut with regular nipper, but they are very hard. We recommend the compound tile nipper.

    CAUTIONS:
    1. Porcelain tile is unglazed, so its surface can be stained by grout. To preserve the full color of the tile, you should seal your mosaic with tile and grout sealer from the hardware store before grouting. (It's not difficult or expensive.) We use a small paint brush to apply the sealer without dripping it between the tiles.
    2. For architectural installations, porcelain tile should be installed with a latex-modified thin set mortar instead of glue. This prevents the possibility of moisture seeping through the micro-pores of the porcelain over the years and weakening any glue. For fine-art indoor mosaics, we use Weldbond glue.
