CAD RED LIGHT (C3048 Lollipop) C3 Recycled Glass Mosaic Tile

C3048 recycled glass tile
Price: $2.73
C3 ™ Recycled-Glass Enamel Tile by Kaleidoscope ® is sold in units of 49 tiles. C3 is the ultimate mosaic material with stunning colors made from 99% recycled glass. C3 has the luminous color intensity of traditional smalti, but it is less expensive, more durable and floor-safe for commercial installation. C3 also generates much less cutting waste than smalti because it breaks cleanly without creating a lot of slivers or useless pieces. In short, C3 is the easy, affordable alternative to smalti for colorful mosaic artwork.

In order to reduce guesswork in ordering, we have referenced each manufacturer color name to a pigment in artists paint. The reference should be very close if not exact in most cases. See our GUIDE TO C3 COLOR REFERENCES if you still have questions.

NOTE: THE FACTORY IS TRANSITIONING TO LOOSE TILES, BUT SOME COLORS STILL COME GLUED FACE-DOWN ON PAPER SHEETS (until the paper sells out).
The paper is removed by soaking in water overnight. Loose tile should be rinsed anyway, so it isn't extra work.
The bottoms of the tiles are a little rough and grity. This helps your cement bond to them better.
  • Price is for a bag of 49+ tiles (or a sheet of 49 tiles temporarily glued FACE-down on paper).
  • Tiles should be rinsed before use (or soaked off the paper overnight).
  • Each TILE is 12 mm or 0.47" (just under 1/2").
  • Made from 99% RECYCLED glass.
  • Solid color throughout.
  • Opaque.
  • Glossy.
  • Extremely hard.
  • Cuts relatively easily with mosaic glass cutters.

GUIDE TO C3 ™ COLOR REFERENCES

In painting, a TINT is made by mixing white paint into a paint of pure pigment. For example, if you have Purple, you can create a lighter Purple Tint by mixing in white paint. In our system of color names, Tint1 is the darkest tint, followed by Tint2, Tint3, etc. Of course, Purple is darker than Purple Tint1.

Umber, Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt Blue, Cad Orange, etc. are the equivalent of colors produced by painters pigments of the same name.

Our Light Blues are the blues made in painting by adding white to phthalocyanine blue.

Our Teals are the blue-greens made in painting by adding small amounts of cadmium yellow to phthalocyanine blue.

Our Greens are the greens made in painting by mixing large amounts of cadmium yellow to small amounts of phthalocyanine blue. Green Tint1 would actually be produced by adding more cad yellow instead of adding white.

Our Forest Greens are the greens made in painting by mixing large amounts of cad yellow to small amounts of ultramarine blue.

Primary Red could also be called Cad Red Medium.

Our Faded Maroons are made in painting my dulling alizarin crimson with ultramarine blue.
