Blue Chalcedony gemstones, tumbled and polished. Blue Chalcedony from Namibia, sometimes called African Blue, ranges from pale grey-blue to medium pure blue. Gemstones and mosaics: Tumbled gemstones make colorful and interesting accents for "crazy-quilt" designs in mosaic backsplashes, picture frames and tables. The best-sized stones to use in mosaics made from our vitreous glass mosaic tile are probably those in the range of 1/2 to 3/4 inch, but larger sizes work well also, depending on what other mosaic materials you are using. It's ok if the stone adds a little texture to an otherwise perfectly flat surface. Just make sure that you glue them down securely so that they don't slip out during grouting. Sold by weight, not by piece count. Keep in mind you are buying a natural material, and stones may vary from the picture shown. No two stones are exactly alike!
